Choose your Pokémon:

Masqueraders are to create designs based on a Pokemon only-- no human characters! Please answer the questions below, which will help us with bulk ordering materials for everyone!

Please note: Legendary Pokemon will be limited to one masquerader only, to keep the lore accurate! Legendary choices will be first-come only, in the order that a registration is confirmed with payment. If a Legendary is already claimed, we will email you to ask you to choose another Pokemon or if there is a variant option (e.x. Alola species)

Let us know if you have a design in mind, or if you will need help at our 1st workshop, so we can build our programming effectively for everyone's needs!
How will you join our workshops?
In-person
Virtually (Some workshops can be recorded as needed.) *** We will ship materials within the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, pending custom regulations. For masqueraders outside of North America who would have to source materials from their home country, please contact CosMAS for registration adjustment.

Registration Payment:

CosMAS Masquerader Registration:
ADULT Masquerader$125
CHILD Masquerader (Age 15 and Under) **Must be accompanied by a guardian**$85

PLEASE NOTE:

CosMAS is a COSPLAY focused group, where costumes are created by the masquerader themselves, not by an official group designer. Registration fees are greatly reduced compared to other Carnival mas camps to reflect the absence of hired costuming labor. See @NewYorkCarnival on Instagram for links to other camps for examples of packaging.

***Registrants will need to purchase their own base costume pieces or fabric to create their base pieces (bra, bottoms/trunks or one-pieces). This just makes it easier for everyone to find their proper size and color(s) for their Pokemon of choice! Those who are interested in building a wired bra will be able to learn so at our workshops with the included materials.

Please refer to info packet email for the type of outfit pieces that are regulated by WIADCA for masqueraders BEFORE purchasing anything! Email us for any further questions.

Agreement to Mas:

There are strict rules by WIADCA about nudity, risky cuts of bras and bottoms, as well as drinking alcohol on the Parkway, and other inappropriate behavior. We will review all rules in the first workshop and an infopacket will be emailed to you for reference!

By registering for CosMAS, you agree to abide by all costuming rules and regulations enforced by WIADCA. Costumes will be vetted during workshop events, and checked the day of the parade. Any costumes and physical activity/expressions that are not aligned with WIADCA's regulations will not be allowed to participate, may impact the CosMAS group, which will result in being banned from future CosMAS events.

By registering for CosMAS, I understand that the NY West Indian Day Parade is a large spectator event, drawing thousands of participants and attendees. There is the possibility of exposure to COVID-19. CosMAS is a safe space and I am encouraged with the option to mask to protect myself if desired. I release AVR Experiences LLC and its partners from liability for contracting any illness from public exposure. I will work as a part of the community to inform organizers of any possible contraction of COVID-19 to help keep our community informed for testing.

CosMAS is an inclusive space dedicated to celebrating and uplifting blerd culture; any hate speech, acts or threats of violence or harassment, unwanted interactions towards other masqueraders of any gender, LGBTQ+ identifying persons, age, etc., will result in an immediate ban from CosMAS and any future events of Project-ON / AVR Experiences.

I understand that the NY West Indian Da parade is a rain or shine event; the route along Eastern Parkway is a lengthy distance of at least 3 miles; if masqueraders break from the parade route, there is no rejoining the route. Masqueraders with mobility needs are encouraged to bring assistive devices (motorized scooters, canes/walkers, wheelchairs). Wheelchair users who may need a non-participant assistant to join for support, or would like to pair with masqueraders to help support them, please feel free to contact CosMAS organizers at info@avrexperiences.com.

Force Majeur: In the case of event cancellation due to severe weather, global events or other acts of God, CosMAS organizers will follow the direction of WIADCA and inform of any event reschedulings/retimings.
